The Fishily story
We're three mates from Tauranga, New Zealand, united by our passion for fishing and community. The idea for Fishily wasn't born in a boardroom; it came from countless conversations at the boat ramp and on the wharf.
We kept hearing from boat owners who found it a hassle to get out on the water—they needed a hand with launching, help splitting costs, or simply wanted some good company. At the same time, we saw so many keen fishos on the shore who would have jumped at the chance to get out on a boat. We knew there had to be a better way to connect these two groups.

Our mission
Our mission is simple: get more people out on the water, together. We want to bridge the gap between boat owners and crew, making it easier for everyone to enjoy a day of fishing. For us, it's about more than just catching fish; it's about the social connections that improve mental well-being and the shared knowledge that keeps the passion for fishing alive for generations to come.
More than just an app
In a world of endless scrolling, Fishily is a social media platform that actually gets you outside. We're the first of our kind, built by fishos, for fishos. We're not just about sharing photos; we're about creating real-world connections and unforgettable experiences on the water.
Our vision for the future
We're just getting started. Our dream is to build a global community where anglers can connect no matter where they are in the world. Whether you're travelling and want to find a local fishing buddy or just looking to get out more in your hometown, Fishily will be there to help you build those connections. Our focus is, and always will be, on building an amazing community first.
